Privacy Policy

Effective date: May 29, 2026

This privacy policy applies to the DriveBlock app (referred to as the "Application") for mobile devices, created by Tobechi Nwachukwu (referred to as the "Service Provider") as a commercial service. This service is provided "AS IS".

Information Collection and Use

The Application uses a third-party analytics service (PostHog) to understand how features are used so the Service Provider can improve the Application. This analytics data is tied only to a randomly generated, anonymous identifier and is not linked to your name, email address, or Apple ID. The information collected may include:

  • A randomly generated anonymous identifier created on your device
  • Product interaction events — for example, onboarding steps viewed, paywall views, buttons tapped, and drive sessions started or completed
  • Your subscription status and the subscription plan purchased (but not payment card or billing details, which are handled by Apple)
  • Device and technical information, such as device model, operating system version, app version, language, and region
  • Your device's Internet Protocol (IP) address, used to derive approximate, country-level location and then discarded — never stored as precise location

The Application does not collect or transmit the following:

  • Your driving routes, GPS location, or precise location data of any kind
  • The specific apps you choose to block
  • Your name, email address, contacts, or messages
  • Health or fitness data

Core features — including app blocking, session tracking, and streaks — are processed entirely on-device and are not transmitted to any server.

The analytics data is not used to track you across other companies' apps or websites, and the Service Provider does not sell your information. The Application does not use Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies to process your data or provide features.

Third Party Access

Anonymous usage and analytics data is transmitted to PostHog, a third-party product-analytics provider, to aid the Service Provider in improving the Application. This data is processed on PostHog's servers located in the United States. The Service Provider may share your information with third parties as described in this statement.

Please note that the Application utilizes third-party services and Apple system frameworks that have their own Privacy Policies regarding data handling. Below are the links to the Privacy Policies of third-party service providers used by the Application:

The Service Provider may disclose User Provided and Automatically Collected Information:

  • As required by law, such as to comply with a subpoena or similar legal process
  • When they believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect their rights, protect your safety or the safety of others, investigate fraud, or respond to a government request
  • With trusted service providers who work on their behalf, do not have an independent use of the information disclosed to them, and have agreed to adhere to the rules set forth in this privacy statement

We Do Not Sell or Share Your Personal Information

The Service Provider does not sell your personal information, and does not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising or targeted advertising. The Application contains no advertising and no advertising trackers. The only data leaving your device is the anonymous, non-identifying analytics described above, used solely to improve the Application.

Opt-Out Rights

You can stop all collection of information by the Application by uninstalling it. You may use the standard uninstall processes available as part of your mobile device or via the mobile application marketplace or network.

Data Retention Policy

Drive session data, streaks, and statistics are stored locally on your device and are not transmitted to or retained on any server operated by the Service Provider. If you would like the Service Provider to delete any User Provided Data, please contact them at hello@driveblock.app and they will respond in a reasonable time.

Children

The Application may be used by minors under parental supervision (e.g., parents installing DriveBlock on a teen driver's device). The Service Provider does not knowingly solicit personally identifiable information from children under the age of 13 without parental consent.

If the Service Provider discovers that a child under 13 has provided personal information without parental consent, it will be immediately deleted. If you are a parent or guardian and are aware that your child has provided personal information, please contact the Service Provider at hello@driveblock.app so that the necessary actions can be taken.

Security

The Service Provider is committed to safeguarding the confidentiality of your information. Physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards are in place to protect the information the Service Provider processes and maintains. Because core app data lives on your device, protecting access to your device is the most important security measure you can take.

Changes

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. The Service Provider will notify you of any changes by updating this page with the new Privacy Policy. You are advised to consult this Privacy Policy regularly for any changes, as continued use is deemed approval of all changes.

Your Consent

By using the Application, you are consenting to the processing of your information as set forth in this Privacy Policy, now and as amended in the future.

Contact Us

If you have any questions regarding privacy while using the Application, or have questions about these practices, please contact the Service Provider via email at hello@driveblock.app.
